Another popular parts cleaning option is vibratory finishing. Let’s look at how this process helps our customers. If you missed our earlier parts cleaning posts, feel free to go back and check out the benefits of abrasive blast finishing and shot blasting.
Why Use Vibratory Finishing
If you want to deburr, radius, descale, burnish, clean and brighten metal components, vibratory finishing is an excellent solution. Vibratory finishing allows us to control the time, vibration motion and flow of lubricant to quickly produce the desire results.
At KVF Quad, we operate round bowls and rectangular finishing machines totaling 226 cubic feet of processing equipment. Our vibratory finishing process includes the use of batch-type operations. Specially shaped media and the customer’s parts are placed into the tub/barrel of the equipment. The tub is then set-in motion using counterweights to cause the vibrating motion of the machine and initiating the media to contact the parts.
When is Vibratory Finishing the Best Option
Parts or materials requiring an even, smooth (or even bright and shiny) surface benefit most from the vibratory finishing option. Think of vibratory finishing as mass sanding/polishing, in which many parts are processed at the same time, saving the customer time and money. Vibratory finishing can also provide smooth finishes to internal passageways or internal diameters (ID’s) of parts.
